Possibly Edwardian, or perhaps a little later – a wooden perpetual calendar with date, day and month turning on wooden spindles.
SOLD
Item Description
Forget the digital display – this sits on any desk, mantelpiece or windowcill and invites you to engage with it, any day.
It stands just 21cms high and is 14cms x 7.5cms at its base. The day, date and month feature on fabric scrolls turned via four wooden spindles. Apertures are glazed to protect the fabric.
The wooden case has a fine patina. There are slight sellotape glue blemishes on the varnish which would easily clean off, but otherwise it is in good condition. And it is wonderfully undemanding – no maintenance required.
